On Friday, the 16th day of February, 2018, was a tragic day in the ancient city of Kano, as three children died of suffocation inside a Honda car, number plate AR687TRN that has been parked at a spot for over a year.
It was reported that, there were 4 kids inside the vehicle between the ages of 2-5, whom were playing around the abandoned vehicle, until, they accidentally locked themselves inside the vehicle and were suffocated.
However, there was a survivor of age 5, who was found unconscious and rushed to the nearby Armed Forces Medical Centre, adjacent to the Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital.
Mr Musa Majia, the Police Public Relations Officer in Kano when contacted, confirmed the incident and said that investigations is ongoing to know the root of the incident.
In essence, proper investigation should be done on the matter and critical measures should be taken to avoid such occurrence in the future.
