One of Nigeria leading banks, Guaranty Trust Bank Plc (GTB) has established the Dusty Manuscript Contest to promote the Nigerian writers to tell and sell their stories. This is a way to encourage many Nigerians who do not know how to get their story out to the public. Top winning entries for the contest will get their stories published under the Farafina breeze imprint and Okadabooks, with over ₦1,500,000 in cash prize.
The Dusty Manuscript initiatives feature a two-day book writing and marketing boot-camp for the top 25 longlisted book authors.
Submission Guidelines
Minimum of a 25,000-word count is required.
Submissions should be adult fiction (in the sense of not being ‘children’s fiction’).
Nigerian slangs and expressions can be used.
The manuscript to be submitted shouldn’t have been published in book form.
Eligible participants should have at least one parent born in Nigeria who holds citizenship of the same.
